The Risk Management Deputy Chief (RMDC) serves as part of the Office of Entity Vetting senior leadership team and is responsible for supervising the review and synthesis of vulnerability and threat assessments, and subsequent production and implementation of Risk Management Strategies (RMS) which details the risk treatment strategy necessary to address national security risks for a company under review.

• Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain the Security Fundamentals and Professional Certification within 12 months of appointment.
• Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain the Industrial Security Oversight Certification within 24 months of appointment

Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade (GS/GG-13) in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Advanced experience managing a portfolio, projects, programs, or systems; Expert demonstration of security, intelligence, and business knowledge, as well as the ability to understand workflows, metrics/production requirements, and needs analysis; Advanced experience training, leading, and mentoring others; Executing risk management principles and practices to address program, technology, organization, or individual risk; Advanced experience auditing approved Risk Management Strategies and implementing risk treatments to ensure adherence to applicable regulatory standards and internal style guides. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: 1. Vulnerabilities Assessment and Management- Conduct assessments on threats and vulnerabilities, determine the level of risk, and develop and recommend appropriate mitigation countermeasures in operational and non-operational situations. Conduct assessments in a counterintelligence context to protect against espionage, other intelligence activities, and sabotage conducted for or on behalf of foreign powers, organizations or persons, or international terrorist activities. 5. Program Security- Employ an array of traditional, acquisition and security measures to sustain secrecy of highly sensitive United States Government programs and/or activities. Prevent unauthorized disclosure of national security program information throughout the program lifecycle.
