About the Position: The pay band NH-04 includes the General Schedule grade equivalent to GS-14/15. Other initiatives under the Acquisition Demonstration Project include simplified classification, streamlined hiring process and expanded developmental opportunities

Duties

Serves as a Supervisory Deputy Project Manager (DPM) and responsible management official providing overall direction and guidance for the development, acquisition, testing, product improvements, fielding, and sustainment of assigned programs. Coordinate, integrate, lead, and directly control the efforts associated with assigned program. Utilize a high degree of managerial and technical knowledge as well as a thorough knowledge of functional activities and the defense acquisition process required for effective management of assigned programs. Oversees POM planning, cost estimating, program planning, programming, budgeting, program integration, interoperability, and oversight. Serves as advisor to officials with broader and higher responsibilities on status of project, progress made, projected plans, and problems. Responsible for all aspects of acquisition to include development, testing, system integration, production, fielding, sustainment, and product improvements with a multi-million-dollar annual budget.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmental Information access.
  • Must file an annual financial statement.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for (Advanced) level, Program Management certification within 48 months as of entrance on duty
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter.
  • This is a designated Critical Acquisition Position. The incumbent will be required to sign a 3 year tenure agreement.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-03/GS-13).
