Duties

Familiar with the Practice Management Revenue Model (PMRM), and Administrative Cost Efficiency (ACE) to implement strategies to maximize clinical revenue. Incumbent implements internal controls to ensure Defense Medical Human Resources System -internet (DMHRSi) documentation is timely and accurate for assigned staff and borrowed military manpower. Ensure effective front-end business operations, including authorization, and insurance verification. Reviews directives from higher authorities and advises the Department Head on any potential impact on operations. Provide guidance to, and answer inquiries concerning the interpretation and application of regulations and policies. Develop provider schedules and ensures they are submitted to MTF Master Scheduler within designate timeframe. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the organization's structure in terms of health care services of a clinical and medical nature along with demographics of the military and civilian communities. Incumbent assists in the development and implementation of effective patient care systems to achieve clinic compliance with DHA policies, manuals and Operations Orders for the clinic. Implement scheduling process in accordance with the Military Health System (MHS) Commander's Guide to Access and DHA policies to maximize provider availability and productivity. Incumbent is familiar with Joint Commission standards and patient safety goals. Incumbent manages the staffing of the clinic based on established Joint Table of Distribution (JTD).

  • Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience :One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes utilizing various databases and healthcare systems to monitor the healthcare delivery processes within a medical treatment facility (MTF); analyzing performance measures including enrollment, patient satisfaction, quality measures, access, productivity, and provider continuity; running recurring reports and interpreting data; implementing solutions/recommendations as well as monitoring and coordinating personnel matters. OR Education: Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in Hospital Administration, Public Health Administration, Business or Public Administration with course work in Health Care Administration. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Specialized Experience: Specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and I have at least two years of graduate education as described in B, but less than the required three years. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.). (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
