About the Position: This position is located with the US Army Military Police School, Company D 795th Military Police Battalion on Fort Leonard Wood .The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, Missouri. Bordering the installation are the towns of Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2 hour drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield is a little more than an hour's drive to the West of Fort Leonard Wood.
Duties
Prepare, track and execute staff and functional meetings to include command and staff, training meetings, and training briefs.
Prepare and manage operational tracking reports and updates using commercial and military automated systems.
Assist the Company Commander by maintaining administrative personnel records of permanent party members and trainees as well as maintaining forms and publications.
Maintain files, records of equipment and furniture, and administrative taskings for the daily operations of the Battalion.
Conduct in processing of permanent party members, assist permanent party members in obtaining information or referral to appropriate offices for personnel, pay and travel actions.
Prepare daily and monthly status reports and feeder information for input to the Battalion Operations Point of Contact.
Ensure training requirements are tracked, and training arrangements are made through channels and fitness tests are completed.
Ensure training schedules are fully utilized, shortfalls are identified and rectified, logistical support has been arranged that may include transportation to and from barracks, dining facilities, training sites without scheduling conflicts.
Use a government vehicle for distribution or supply runs as needed.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- An appropriate, valid driver's license is required and must be maintained for the position.
- Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 3 years by a current permanent Army employee.
- Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: ensuring training schedules are developed and resources are coordinated, preparing and tracking status reports, managing, staffing, and tracking personnel actions, and operating a government vehicle for distribution or supply runs as needed by the organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Qualified Typist Requirement: In addition to meeting the experience requirements, for all positions titled as Office Automation or any clerical positions which has parenthetical title of Office Automation (OA), applicants must have typing proficiency of 40 words per minute(wpm).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
