About the Position: This position is located at the Office of the Commanding General at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. FLW is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, Missouri. Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2 hour drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield is a little more than an hour's drive to the West of Fort Leonard Wood.
Duties
Develop and maintain the Chief of Staff's long-range calendar.
Train, provide advice, and assistance in all correspondence matters to other staff members.
Compose and prepare correspondence in correct format, spelling, and grammar using office automation software
Provide advice and recommendations to the Chief of Staff on all matters relative to the coordination, integration and synchronization of staff actions, events and activities personally affecting and involving the Chief of Staff.
Develop plans and strategies for the internal and external integration of day to day and long-range projects, actions and activities requiring the involvement of the Chief of Staff.
Manage the operational schedule of the Chief of Staff.
Requirements

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: developing and maintaining supervisor's long-range calendar; training, providing advice and assistance in all correspondence matters to other staff members and other subordinate unit members; composing and preparing correspondence in correct format, spelling and grammar using office automation software; and preparing charts for official briefings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07). All applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcement.
