This position is located in the Office of the Primary Care Service Line Manager, who is responsible for managing and directing Primary Care Service Line. The Service Line supports one of the primary missions of the VA and provides integrated and comprehensive services to each medical center service line, employees, patients and families, and other stakeholder groups.
Duties
Major duties for these positions may include (but are not limited to):
Timekeeping duties, posting daily time worked, annual and sick leave, military leave, authorized absences, leave without pay, absences without leave, overtime and compensatory time requests, on the job injury workers compensation time, non-pay, holiday pay and excused holiday pay and unscheduled work hours for part-time employees.
Primary point of contact for employees and supervisors, acting as the liaison to Payroll and/or Human Resource staff when questions arise regarding Primary Care staff timesheets or which T&L staff timecards should be placed.
Provide clerical support to the service and will perform other duties related to the work of an Administrative Support Assistant, as necessary.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Work hours may change based on the needs of the agency.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/06/2025.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service (or equivalent pay band), that provided a knowledge of the principles, practice, and techniques used to report audit findings (Criteria, cause, effect, and recommendation), use of computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work., knowledge of procedures for accessing, evaluating, and monitoring programs or projects for compliance with Federal laws, regulations, and guidance. Specialized experience includes: Administrative and clerical duties.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically the employee sits comfortably to do the work.
