Duties
The successful candidate will serve as a Mission Support Team Leader, providing overall administration, oversight responsibilities of regional administrative assistants, training, and quality review of work products, Federal Personnel Payroll System (FPPS) processing, hiring and Administrative Assistant (AA) development, development of infographics and data visualizations for the region, and other administrative support activities for Region II.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
For GG-09, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the grade 8 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
For GG-10, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the grade 9 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience for this position demonstrates leadership experience such as applying techniques, methods, theories, principles, or concepts for the accomplishment of all program objectives with combined technical and administrative oversight. Providing guidance to a team of Administrative Assistants in the function of office automation systems to produce documents and perform a variety of office automation functions such as time and attendance reporting, action item tracking, travel document preparation and retrieval, and calendar maintenance. Additionally, provides leadership and guidance in coordinating office-wide administrative activities and initiatives, along with implementing new and existing agency-wide administrative processes.
This experience may have been gained through work experience as a project/program manager, team lead or project/program lead, technical advisor that included managing resources, providing support to managers, mentoring team members, providing day to day guidance training and/or oversight of peers or others. Experience applying regulations, other official guidance and principles, including the latest procedures and techniques sufficient to oversee the planning, development and implementation of the technical aspects of programs specific to the position being filled. Experience applying communicative techniques to effectively and diplomatically interact with internal and external customers.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
Thorough knowledge of planning, coordination, and execution of a variety of office functions such as action item tracking, calendar maintenance, and travel regulations. (EXAMPLE: Describe work experience, education, training and other activities that demonstrate your ability to provide administrative support to an office and multiple senior leaders. Include how you are able to manage assigned tasks; carry out a variety of office functions; coordinate travel and reconcile expenses; maintain calendars; and plan on and off-site office wide meetings.)
Demonstrated proficiency with microcomputer-based word processing systems including Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Outlook Appointment Calendar, E-mail, etc.), software (i.e. Microsoft PowerPoint, etc.), Internet tools (i.e., Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge), forms processing software (i.e., Microsoft Forms), and office automation database/spreadsheet applications (i.e. Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Excel)
Demonstrated ability to serve as a leader, providing administration, oversight, training, and quality review of work products in an administrative role. Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks as well as meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. (EXAMPLE: Provides examples of when you have provided leadership and technical expertise in an administrative role.)

Demonstrated initiative and ability to provide leadership, administrative support, and customer service in a variety of areas (e.g., workload management, administrative assistant development, staff coverage, training, etc.) (EXAMPLE: Describe your specific experience, training, and developmental assignments that demonstrate your ability or potential to provide leadership as evidenced by success in areas such as: resolving difficult and complex problems; formulating program goals and objectives; managing the simultaneous completion of many tasks with competing resource demands; providing coordination, oversight, guidance, and direction to personnel of diverse backgrounds to foster a motivated team atmosphere.
