About the Position: This position is located at ACH Winn Community Hospital, Fort Stewart, GA.

Duties

Utilize office automation to produce memos, progress reports, and/or correspondence regarding specialty referrals. Monitor and maintain data using automated systems, such as Composite Health Care System (CHCS), to ensure specialty referrals are properly closed. Counsel beneficiaries in understanding how to receive referred care. Utilize automated systems, such as Composite Health Care System (CHCS), to perform a variety of functions in support of tracking specialty referrals. Administer support to customers and/or staff to address complaints regarding specialty referrals. Communicate with other health care agencies to facilitate consult, referral , or claim issue resolution.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position is subject to a Tier 1 background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
  • This position has mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal Influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact.
  • This position requires a qualified typist, 40 WPM.
  • This position may require business travel (TDY) up to 5% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing customer service to patients such as guidance on facility policy and/or referral consultation; performing reception duties in a clinic such as scheduling appointments, answering phones and/or receiving patients; maintaining files for the facility. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification). OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. (NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer SkillsCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical)Manages and Organizes Information Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04).
