About the Position: Incumbents will serves as Range Operations Assistant performing Fire Desk duties at a Range Control facility which simultaneously integrates non-participating live-fire activities, air drops and close-air-support operations into an air-traffic control environment, operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Duties

Efficiently schedule ranges in order to prevent scheduling conflicts. Coordinate range activities for various types of units such as field artillery and mechanized infantry. Issues detailed instructions to units operating within various range complexes.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must possess and maintain a State driver's license.
  • Position requires the incumbent to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • TDY travel is occasionally required.
  • May be required to work overtime.
  • Work requires occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions.
