You will serve as a DEFENSE CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE PROGRAM ANALYST in the JOINT TASK FORCE of HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND.

Duties

You will review and endorse operational products, policy and budgetary proposals for Flag/General officer approval. You will work with mission and Department of Defense (DoD) asset owners to identify commercial and foreign-owned infrastructure and assets critical to Joint Task Force—Micronesia (JTF-M) and U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) missions. You will collaborate with JTF and INDOPACOM staffs and provide input to products related to Defense Critical Infrastructure (DCI). You will prepare information papers and reports to inform Flag and General Officers on identified critical capabilities, assets, and vulnerabilities to JTF and USINDOPACOM missions and functions. You will conduct regular visits to local governments across the Joint Area of Operation (JOA) to discuss DCI and local critical infrastructure issues and concerns related to Homeland Defense. You will recommend actions to remediate or mitigate vulnerabilities. You will develop bilateral and multilateral DCI relationships with host-governments, allies, partners, non-government organizations, private organizations and/or companies across the JOA. You will organize and lead team assessments of infrastructure essential to plan and conduct operations within the JOA. You will create and maintain DCI operations and planning checklists for joint operations.

  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Position may require moderate travel outside normal working hours on weekdays, weekends or holidays to the continental United States and foreign countries, approximately 2-7 days, 1-2 times per quarter.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Evaluating, developing, recommending, planning, and implementing Defense Critical Infrastructure policies, programs, and procedures; Providing leadership with practical measures to evaluate and mitigate operational risk and potential impact of threats to mission-essential infrastructure; Overseeing and executing operations, activities and administration of assigned tasks; Resolving problems in existing and planned security systems and programs requiring innovative decisions.
