You will serve as an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/CUSTSPT) in the Information Systems Department
(CN6000) of NAVAIR TRAINING HUMAN CAPITAL MGMT GRP.
Duties
You will serve as an Information Technology Security specialist and subject matter expert with responsibility for advising staff regarding the full scope of Information Security program matters.
You will be responsible for assessing and improving the security posture of the enterprise-operating environment and notifying managers of analysis to determine the probability of vulnerabilities and remediate identified vulnerabilities.
You will perform forensic analysis resulting from Cybersecurity violations, unexplained information system performance anomalies and incidents, and data spillage.
You will review and analyze current Department of Defense policies, regulations, and established requirements pertaining to information technology systems and security procedures.
You will provide Information Technology support to the staff and oversight of end user devices that are utilized in direct support of training programs.
You will serve as the first line of response and analysis for Information Technology related work stoppages.
You will provide semi-annual inventory and submits requests for new items and contract modifications.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/CS Workforce position. You must obtain/maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area Information System Security Management/Intermediate Proficiency level II within 12 months.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing Information Technology support to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, availability of systems, networks, or data by resolving problems related to Information Technology products and services (e.g., implementation, maintenance or customer support) for Naval Air Training Command.
Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, the following education may be substituted for specialized experience:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks;
OR
Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
