You will serve as a LEAD IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK/CUSTSPT) in the INFORMATION SYSTEMS DEPARTMENT, ENTERPRISE OPERATIONS DIVISION of NAVAIR TRAINING HUMAN CAPITAL MGMT GRP.

Duties

You will provide customer support maintenance services for IT equipment, software, systems, interfaces and networks. You will analyze and diagnose difficult and complex problems reported by system users. You will evaluate alternative approaches to problem resolution to recommend courses of action. You will interpret and explain IT regulations, policies and directives, local procedures and policies and guidance to a wide audience. You will develop plans for installing, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining user IT equipment and software. You will be responsible for creating, monitoring and administering all staff, student and contractor accounts required to access training systems. You will plan, design and develop testing/maintenance programs for workstation, printer and peripheral equipment in support of the Training Air Wing learning centers. You will provide technical advice and guidance to junior technicians as necessary. You will analyze and resolve system IT equipment/software failures.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 451, Sys Admin, proficiency level intermediate. The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to lift/carry items weighing up to 45 pounds.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing Information Technology related problems to resolve customer hardware, software, and network reported issues. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
