About the Position: Serves as a Congressional Affairs Contact Officer for the Headquarters Department of the Army (HQDA), Deputy Chief of Staff for Programs, G-8.
Duties
Responds to requests for information from Congress.
Prepares responses to requests for information from Congress, including queries from Professional and Personal Staff, Congressional Report Requirements.
Tracks, compiles, reviews, analyzes, and summarizes Congressional legislation and Hearings as appropriate
Ensures responses are accurate, answers all elements in the request, are written at the right level of detail for the
requestor, and are in the correct format.
Tracks and Analyzes Congressional legislation, Hearings and Audits.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- 25% Temporary Duty (TDY) is required for the position.
- Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes; utilizing a wide range of qualitative and quantitative analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to identify and advise on highly sensitive political and congressional affairs; applying practices and techniques in order to develop new approaches to difficult and complex problems; providing technical and policy guidance on legislative authorization and appropriation matters. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
