About the Position: Serves as Strategic planner, staff action officer, and Army representative for matters pertaining to force planning and integration. Responsible for the integration of plans, policies, and programs in order to establish, influence, and support the Army.
Duties
Review and analyze Joint and DoD strategic military planning documents.
Plan, coordinate, and provide guidance and direction; develop objectives and plans of action; establish timelines; ensure commonality of effort; and integrate a final product.
Prepare position papers, presents and defends recommendations at highest levels within the Army.
Perform strategic analyses of either one time or recurring issues impacting on operations of the Army in concert with other analysts within the office, or through leading integrated matrix teams of functional ARSTAF and subordinate experts.
Provide information to Senior Army leadership in preparation of their congressional testimony, meetings and briefings related to Army issues to include force planning and integration.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent submit to an initial and then ongoing random drug testing.
- The duties of this position may require occasional travel.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance.
Qualifications
Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 2 YEARS. Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.
Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
