About the Position: Serve as the Senior Army Doctrine Manager located in the Strategy, Doctrine and Concepts Division (DAMO-SSP), Directorate of Strategy, Plans and Policy (DAMO-SS), Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff (ODCS), G-3/5/7, Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA).

Duties

Integrate Army doctrinal positions into joint and allied joint doctrine. Design methods and milestones for the conduct of comprehensive studies to review Army, joint, and allied joint publications. Develop the division and directorate strategy for accomplishing Army goals and objectives. Coordinate and manage the overall Joint Doctrine Development Process IAW CJCSI 5120.02E (Joint Doctrine Development System) and AAP-47 (Allied Joint Doctrine Development). Develop Army recommendations for U.S. ratification of Allied Joint Doctrine (NATO). Supervise the development of the Army position for joint and allied joint terminology.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The incumbent will travel/go on temporary duty (TDY) 10% of the time, or more.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Planning and EvaluatingProgram ManagementWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
