About the Position: Serves as the Installation Current Operations Officer with responsibility for the execution of Fort Gregg-Adams's contingency plans.
Duties
Responsible for the operational missions involving use of soldiers, civilians and installation resources.
Implement higher headquarters directed exercises and/or operations and provide instruction as required to participating staff and units.
Supervise the transition to the continued implementation of emergency/disaster operations plans (i.e., civil defense; disaster relief; survival measures; civil disturbance; nuclear accidents and incidents; and land defense).
Serve as Team Leader for Operations Section providing technical direction and support to employees in grades GS-05 to GS-11 and/or military personnel of equivalent grades.
Requirements
- This position requires employee to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This position requires shift work, to include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
- This position may require occasional travel.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- Position is designated as Mission Essential.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes creating rosters, agendas, updates, reports for meetings with management. Monitoring emergency operations and compiling needed information for the installation. Assist with scheduling needed training for personnel within the organization such deployment/redeployment training. Utilizing various office automation equipment to complete duties.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
