About the Position: The position is with the Fort Hamilton Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS). The mission of the U.S. Military Entrance Processing Command (USMEPCOM), and the MEPS, is to process individuals for enlistment or induction into 5 branches of military Service (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard). This is a permanent position.

Duties

Perform the full scope of supervisory functions (scheduling assignments, effecting minor disciplinary measures, approving leave, etc.). Provide oversight for the administration of testing and qualification of applicants for military service. Conduct test inventories and ensure testing facilities meet security guidelines. Develop testing schedules. Implement and update annual training program. Oversee testing staff to ensure proper test administration, test scoring, and record processing to include all tests administered by contract test administrators. Ensure that tests are accomplished In Accordance With (IAW) appropriate regulations and guidelines from the special purpose test proponent. Ensure Test Administrators and high school test proctors understand their respective roles in administration and the prevention of test compromise or loss.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Regular evening and weekend work may be required.
  • Requires a valid state's driver's license.
  • Requires frequent local and occasional temporary duty (TDY) up to 25% business travel.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes using automated systems to administer tests; developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); safeguarding test materials; developing testing schedules; leading personnel; preparing travel orders and vouchers. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Management or Business related fields of study. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education ManagementEducational Service ProgramsLeadership Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07). If you are a current, Federal employee, you must include your pay plan, series and grade in your work experience(s) on your resume submission and/or upload supporting documentation (within-grade increase SF50) to show that you meet the time-in-grade Requirement. In addition, if your step reflects '00', you must include your current salary for each position.
