Job opening: ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT ASSISTANT (CPPA)

You will serve as an Administrative Support Assistant - Command Pay/Personnel Administrator (CPPA) in the Transaction Services Center (TSC), Travel Processing Center (TPC), and Accession Detailers of SURFACE WARFARE OFFICERS SCHOOL.

Duties

You will ensure all documents and information required to provide student personnel or pay support are relayed to the appropriate supporting organization via current authorized process and per applicable policies. You will utilize Sales Force to submit documents to TSC/TPC; track and monitor any pending actions from TSC; serve as the continuing contact for answering student questions regarding entitlements, and other pay actions required. You will provide a full range of clerical and administrative and customer services including general administration, office automation, and clerical support as well as program analyses and compilation of progress reports and statistics. You will assist with or conduct check-in briefs for students, coordinate and participate in indoctrination programs, and verify the arrival of each student to submit required reporting documents for the student in Navy Personnel Systems.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current certification as a Command Pay/Personnel Administrator (CPPA) in accordance with MILPERSMAN 1000-021.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Analyzing and evaluating information, interpreting guidance, and drawing conclusions based on data obtained; 2) Utilizing automated pay and personnel systems; 3) Gathering information and interpreting various reports, programs, and other required statistical summaries; 4) Maintaining an office filing system and determining what matter of materials is to be filed; and 5) Demonstrating skill and competency in grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type final drafts of forms.
