You will serve as a SHEET METAL MECHANIC (AIRCRAFT) TRAINING LEADER in the FRCMA A/C DEPT of FRC SE DET MIDLANT OCEANA.
Duties
You will determine resource requirements for scheduled sheet metal work to plan work assignments.
You will determine facility and sheet metal equipment availability for cost effective rework or aircraft or aeronautical equipment.
You will follow sheet metal shop safety guidelines or practices to avoid unnecessary exposure to hazards and injury.
You will repair aircraft metal assemblies, parts, or components to verify functionality.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO INSTRUCT: Evaluating the depth of work required to satisfy technical directives and engineering instructions; Coordinating work assignments with shop supervisor as they apply to scheduled aircraft deliveries; Ability to identify and comprehend the working characteristics of a wide variety of sheet metal and composites used in aircraft structures; Using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, ball gauges, calipers, and other hand measurement devices used to determine critical hole data such as diameter, tear out, edge distance and ligament; Operating complicated shop tools and equipment, both hand and power, such as shears, brakes, rollers, saws, drills and grinders; interpreting blueprints, technical directives and incorporating various aircraft modifications. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence.
