This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), within the Office of the Executive Director (EX), Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS). You will be responsible for reinforcing the DS mission and strategies at all levels through the development and maintenance of administrative and resource management processes.
Duties
Apply analytical and evaluation methods in conducting research projects relating to the management and utilization of resources; recommends appropriate resolution strategies;
Serve as an adviser to the DS Comptroller and DS Deputy Comptroller, Division Chiefs, and resource managers in the management control of resources allocated to the Bureau;
Provide expert guidance on resource management issues specific to the law enforcement and criminal investigative mission of the Bureau;
Establish and maintain a high level of professionalism and maintains effective liaisons with all levels of DS management; ensure continuity of operations in terms of administrative processes.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Incumbent will be subject to random drug testing.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
Qualifications

NOTE: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this announcement.
Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F.
Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Experience conducting and analyzing broad research regarding administrative processes to make recommendations to senior management;
- Experience providing guidance and interpreting legislation and regulations for managers in order to assist in complying with approved budgets;
- Experience communicating new policies and regulations that affect management and administration of resources.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.
