About the Position: This position is located at the US Army Human Resources Command, Force Shaping Directorate, Readiness Division, Distribution Branch, Fort Knox KY.
Duties
Operate software applications in support of office functions such as, reviewing and processing personnel actions.
Advise commands on a variety of military HR programs such as strength management and unit and personnel readiness.
Collect and prioritize inquiries pertaining to personnel and unit readiness for response.
Obtain, review, and analyze statistical data to develop recommendations and improve program administration.
Evaluate program effectiveness through review and analysis of reports, consultations with key personnel during meetings, and visits to furnish assistance or guidance to subordinate commands.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required unless the requirement has already been met.
- May require occasionally travel away from the normal duty station.
- May be required to work overtime.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Apply principles, practices, and procedures involved in administering military personnel actions. 2) Retrieve, interpret, and display data for use as a management information source. 3) Apply regulations, procedures and/or precedents to provide advice and solve specific problems. 4) Complete assignments independently and keep supervisor informed of progress, potential controversies, or problems with widespread impact. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources or Business Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
