About the Position:
This position serves as the Deputy to the Assistant Chief of Staff (ACofS), G-1 1st TheaterSustainment Command (1st TSC), who provides administrative and policy direction in terms ofMan the Force; Provide HR Services; Coordinate Personnel Support; Conduct HR Planning &Operations.
Duties
Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short term priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work.
Provides guidance, interpretations, training and/or briefings on current and proposed policies for enlisted Army personnel action programs to a wide variety of individuals, managers, and the senior Army leadership.
Prepares and briefs workload, production reports, statistics, and strategy, to higher level authorities.
Serves as the program manager for one or more broad areas of military personnel programs.
Coordinates efforts of all branches within the directorates in meeting command goals.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Secret security clearance required.
- Up to 50% TDY required.
- This is an Emergency Essential Position. In the event of severe weather conditions or emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster), the incumbent must be able to report to duty or remain on duty during emergency and/or crisis situations.
- IAW DoD Policy, must be able to obtain and maintain a no-fee Special Issuance Passport (SIP)and associated visa while assigned to a Federal civilian position in an area requiring a passport and associated visa.
- Upon deployment notification, employee must be able to pass a pre-deployment physical and receive required immunizations IAW CENTCOM Surgeon's Requirements.
- One-year supervisory probationary period may be required if not already completed in accordance with 5 CFR criteria.
- One-year employee probationary period may be required if not already completed in accordance with 5 CFR criteria.

Specialized Experience: One year of experience which includes 1) providing guidance, interpretations, training and/or briefing on current and proposed policies for assigned military personnel management programs; 2) Utilizing personnel data systems and data processing functions, techniques, and capabilities; 3) researching, interpreting, and applying laws, regulations, and guidelines to develop or revise regulations and policies; AND 4) supervising a team: planning work accomplished by subordinates, assign work, evaluate work performance, and direct a program or a major segment with significant resources.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of the work performed at the next lower grade/level (GS-13)
