You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Capital Improvements Division of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND MARIANAS. This position is also subject to a Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) currently set at 12.04%. COLA is subject to change without notice.

Duties

You will provide overall coordination of the construction quality management program for assigned projects. You will review and provide recommendations towards approval of contractor quality control plan. You will ensure contractor is conducting monthly site safety self-evaluation and submitting the information with the pay vouchers/invoices. You will maintain extensive contact with key contractor representatives to promote at atmosphere of partnering and cooperation and to quickly resolve problems and maintain construction schedule. You will act as the main Pont of Contact (POC) for Supported Command interface/coordination in the field.

• This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying technical expertise in the field of the various building construction disciplines including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical systems, building materials and installation methods, quality and safety management; AND ensuring that projects are completed in accordance with contract requirements, safety and environmental policies and regulations, and in coordination with other agencies and/or contractors.
