The incumbent serves as a Senior Information Technology Specialist, Information Security (INFOSEC) in the Office of the Chief Information Officer at DCSA in Quantico, VA. The incumbent supports in adhering to policy and training artifacts in assigned areas, participates in analytical studies, facilitates internal and external discussions to achieve project objectives, and provides expertise and consultation to further the agency's mission and goals.

- If selected, the incumbent must obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance as indicated in job announcement.
- The incumbent will be required to obtain and maintain appropriate IA certifications equivalent to IAM Level III as defined by DoD 8570.01-M/8140-M within six (6) months of appointment to this position
- The incumbent must maintain the currency of the appropriate certification throughout the tenure of the appointment.
- The incumbent must sign a Statement of Understanding regarding the certification requirement and maintaining the appropriate certification is a condition of employment.

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.
You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade (GS/GG-13) in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility.
Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Mastery of a wide range of DoD cybersecurity policies, technologies, processes, methods, and techniques and the use of a high degree of originality and sound judgment in formulating, evaluating and monitoring these areas in order to function as an policy authority throughout the Agency.
Expert knowledge of commercially available products and subsystems that provide cybersecurity features and other safeguards.
Using judgment and ingenuity to guide personnel in the analysis of unprecedented cyber related problems, and developing new and improved techniques and methods as necessary.
Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies:
1. Cybersecurity: Protect and defend information and information systems in order to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability. (AKA Information Assurance)
2. Information Technology Policy and Planning: Develop and promulgate Information Technology strategy, policy, guidance and plans. Monitor to ensure consistency and compliance.
3. Risk Management Framework: Unified Information security framework for the entire federal government.
4. Customer Service: Apply customer support principles.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
