You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT within NLSC.

Duties

You will perform special projects and management analysis to support the civilian personnel management program of the Naval Legal Service Command. You will assist hiring managers and supervisors with processing personnel actions, including Requests for Personnel Actions (RPAs) using SharePoint and DCPDS. You will analyze work processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements through automation and streamlined procedures. You will serve as a communication liaison, ensuring timely and accurate updates to leadership regarding personnel action progress and challenges. You will develop reports and data extracts to ensure clear communication and informed decision making for supervisors and managers. You will provide training and guidance to supervisors on policies, regulations, and the use of personnel management systems to support organizational goals.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Demonstrating proficiency in using the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS), Total Workforce Management System (TWMS), and SharePoint for managing personnel actions and data. 2) Collaborating effectively with supervisors and managers to analyze organizational structures and streamline processes for improved operational efficiency. 3) Interpreting and applying Department of Navy regulations, policies, and procedure to ensure compliance and consistency in civilian personnel management. 4) Analyzing complex work processes and recommending strategies for improved accuracy and efficiency in human resource support programs. 5) Developing automated and manual reports to present date, timelines, and recommendations for senior leadership decision-making.
