About the Position: This position is located at the US Army MSCOE, Dir. of Training and Education Special Victims Capabilities Division (SVCD) on Fort Leonard Wood. Fort Leonard Wood is located in the South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, Mo. Bordering the installation are the towns of Waynesville/St. Robert and St. Louis is a 2hr. drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield is an hour's drive to the West of Fort Leonard Wood.
Duties
Serve as Advanced Police Administration Course (APAC) course manager and principal instructor for the APAC course, producing, professional development, and specialty training courses.
Initiate development of training materials for course or cluster of courses in assigned subject field.
Provide instruction to law enforcement students on the use of the Army Law Enforcement Reporting Tracking System (ALERTS), the Live Scan Management System (LSMS,) and law enforcement report writing.
Oversee the analysis of and revision of long-range plans, projects, goals, and objectives for the work directed.
Accomplish special projects that involve training, and education matters but may be outside the employee's specialty area.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The incumbent of this position may be required to perform shift work, work irregular tours of duty, perform overtime and work weekends and holidays.
- Heavy physical lifting of items up to and including 50 pounds will be required and incumbent is subject to a medical clearance examination prior to employment.
- This position may require an annual physical or medical surveillance examination.
- This position requires the employee drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required for the position.

Specialized Experience: One year of experience serving as an instructor/writer promoting, producing and presenting valid law enforcement and specialized training to students in accordance with governing laws, regulations, directives, and programs of instructions; developing/reviewing of training/course materials, aids, devices , etc., and evaluation of training results; and working in the occupation or law enforcement field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
