Duties
Reviews and analyzes records of previous inspections and identifies recurring deficiencies to assemble trend data and recommendations for corrective actions to preclude future recurrences.
Process Inspector General Action Requests through IGARS, identifying issues, allegations, and areas for further investigation.
Evaluates data gathered to detect fraud or discrepancies indicative of waste, abuse, or inefficiency.
Assists the USAJFKSWCS IG on reporting to the Commanding General matters pertaining to discipline, morale, efficiency, and mission readiness of the command.
Exercise considerable independent judgment in planning and carrying out the IG inspection program with latitude to expand or alter inspection plans and methods as necessary to achieve stated or revised objectives.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position requires a Top Secret security clearance.
- TDY travel required 50% of the time.
- Position requires a Drug Test.
- Position requires successful graduation from the Inspector General School and maintain certification in accordance with regulation.
- Position requires practicing of IG attributes, as mandatory requirements for continued employment as an Army IG.
- Position requires database check against the Army Inspector General Action Request (IGARS) database to screen for substantiated and ongoing IG investigation.
- Position may require one-year probationary period.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes planning and performing inspections of the Command military management of personnel, logistics, resource, training and contract functions. Serving as a focal point of interaction with external inspection agencies. Experience with Inspector General Action Requests (IGARS). Preparing written findings describing problem areas, identifies standards violated and recommends courses of corrective action for implementation by staff proponents. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
