About the Position: You will serve as Manager of Global Combat Support System Army (GCSS-Army) operated MULTICLASS WAREHOUSE, and supervise the daily operation.

Duties

Supervise employees engaged in performing a variety of functions to provide supply and services at the ISSA supported by the Army Field Support Battalion-Lewis-McChord (AFSBn-LM). Ensure strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are communicated to unit members and integrated into the organization’s strategies, goals, objectives, work plans, work products, and services Provide expertise in Global Combat Support System Army supply inventory and management functions, Plant 2001 ISSA. Demonstrate proper procedure to work on supply systems of records to prevent material from not being accountable or excess. Direct and coordinate Installation Supply Support Activities (ISSA) procurement and contract activities for formal and small purchase. Evaluate statistical data to ensure that costs of revised or enhanced readiness do not exceed the mission suspense’s and directives. Assist and advise supervisor in administrative and management matters to include the development and formulation of policies and procedures. Resolve work problems presented by customers and recommend or implement ways to improve production/quality of work in the ISSA Branch.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Evaluating logistics performance to detect developing trends of assigned programs; 2) Recommending actions and/or initiatives to enhance logistics management efficiency; 3) Compiling information from an automated supply management system (Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A Plant 2001)) for current and projected readiness activities; AND 4) Preparing reports and briefs for logistics maintenance programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: business, supply chain, or logistics. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementLeadershipPlanning and EvaluatingSupply Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
