You will serve as a Program Manager in the Ranges Targets Ops & Labs Group, Airborne Instrumentations Systems Department. of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV POINT MUGU.

Duties

You will be responsible for facilitating rapid-prototyping and development from ideation, analysis, modeling and simulation, prototyping, testing, to small-scale production. You will be responsible for identifying infrastructure needs within AISD and build relationships with investment managers across NAVAIR and DoD to secure funding to upgrade and develop such infrastructure needs. You will proactively identifies, assesses, and processes Test and Evaluation requirements and develop investments to meet such national security/defense strategies on a continuous basis. You will serve as an industry and academia expert, participating in well-renowned groups such as those in but not limited to IEEE, National Academy of Engineering, TRMC or similar technical communities/forums/associations. You will maintain awareness of new technologies and how they may be applicable in meeting AISD customer requirements through frequent attendance in technology conferences, working groups, etc.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (DA-05) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must include some or all of the following: 1) Planning, analyzing, and evaluating engineering and technical efforts used to define total range system/subsystem requirements; 2) Translating requirements into advisement and actionable plans; 3) Managing the functional engineering project support and resources for range systems research and development, technical application, specification, acquisition, and implementation; and 4) Demonstrating an advanced knowledge of open-air ranges and previous customer requirements documentation.
