About the Position: Position serves as Talent Manager and point of continuity in an Enlisted Career Branch responsible for the assignments management and professional development, of Enlisted Soldiers, in Human Resources Command (HRC), at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Duties
Review unit strengths and open requisitions to ensure assignments are made by established priorities IAW Active Component Manning Guidance (ACMG).
Fill routine, priority, and validated requisitions while processing a variety of different personnel actions that affect the assignment process.
Screen and selects/nominates Soldiers for broadening assignments to units such as Army Recruiting Command as Recruiters, Drill Sergeants, Equal Opportunity Advisor/Inspector General NCOs and other special duty assignment.
Review personnel actions such as deletion/deferment, Joint Domicile requests, Volunteers for Overseas Service, Foreign Service Tour extensions/curtailments, and Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) request.
Responsible for assignments management and professional development of Enlisted Soldiers, Private through Master Sergeant in a select group of Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) or Career Management Fields (CMF).
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the requirement has already been met.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Position may require occasional travel up to 10% away from the normal duty station.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One-year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Reviewing a myriad of personnel actions. 2) Determining unit level strength assessments against manning guidance. 3) Developing solutions to resolve routine problems or to correct discrepancies. 4) Utilizing human resources systems to revise, sort, and compare information from a variety of files, records and databases. 5) Interpreting and implementing human resource guidance, policy, and procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-07).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Management, Business Administration, Resource Management or Human Resources Management. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position if the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
