This position is located in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management's (OASAM), Workplace Equality Compliance Office (WECO) and is responsible for administering and providing technical advice concerning departmental policies, practices, and procedures under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; the Rehabilitation Act of 1973; the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967; and the Equal Pay Act.
This position is Supervisory and outside the bargaining unit.
Duties
Major duties at the GS-14 level include but are not limited to the following:
Plan work; make assignments, evaluate work performance, and develop performance standards.
Identify developmental and training needs of employee and arrange for needed development or training.
Responsible for the technical and administrative supervision of professional, technical, clerical, and/or administrative work.
Provide leadership and direction in the formulation, execution, and management of policies governing the administration of the agency's assigned programs.
Responsible for programming and annual budgeting submissions and ensuring program accomplishments are within budget allocations.
Responsible for the timely processing of Reasonable Accommodation requests.
Evaluate and assess nonsupervisory subordinate positions; recommend position structure changes; take disciplinary actions and hear and resolve subordinate employee complaints and grievances.
Assess and revise policies and procedures as needed to improve quality, timeliness, and efficiency.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Candidate required to obtain the necessary security/investigation level.

- Requires a supervisory probationary period if the requirement has not been met.
Qualifications
You must meet the Specialized Experience to qualify for Supervisory Equal Employment Specialist, as described below.
For GS-14: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level GS-13 in the Federal Service.
Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
Qualifying examples of specialized experience for GS-14 includes:
Experience applying equal employment opportunity concepts, principles, statutes, regulations, and policies for reasonable accommodations and for preventing and eliminating harassing conduct in the workplace.
Experience in developing and implementing new business approaches and assessment methodologies and evaluating the impact related to reasonable accommodation requests.
Experience applying managerial and technical equal employment opportunity knowledge and skills to plan, organize, direct, and evaluate an effective equal employment program and its goals.
Experience in using oral and written communication skills to inform, advise, persuade, and present actions.
