The position is located in the Office of Equal Employment Opportunity, EEO Complaints Section of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in Washington, D.C. The Office of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) implements effective strategies and proactive measures to ensure equal opportunity and the prevention of discrimination for any employment, program, training or activity conducted by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). Salary reflects a pay cap for this position of $275,000.

Duties

The Assistant Director, of EEO Complaints, serves as a first-line supervisor for staff conducting EEO Formal Complaints programs, ensuring that program operations and projects are conducted in compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

To meet the minimum qualifications, applicants must possess the leadership and technical experiences listed below. These qualifications would typically be gained through serving in roles that require managing projects/teams or guiding the technical work of others. Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, skills, and abilities, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: All applicants must submit a resume that addresses each minimum qualification experience. Examples should be clear, and concise, and emphasize your level of responsibilities; the scope and complexity of the programs, activities, or services you managed; program accomplishments; policy initiatives undertaken; level of contacts; the sensitivity and criticality of the issues you addressed; and the results of your actions. You should use action-oriented leadership words to describe your experience and accomplishments and quantify your experience wherever possible to demonstrate your accomplishments (e.g., the number of employees supervised). Leadership experiences identified must have been performed in an official supervisory role. Leadership Experience 1: Experience in coordinating the work of employees in a work unit, including assigning and evaluating work; setting priorities, timelines, and expectations; and monitoring progress against goals; ANDLeadership Experience 2: Experience in setting performance expectations; assessing employee performance; providing recognition and rewards; providing feedback and development opportunities; addressing performance or conduct issues; and participating in recruitment and hiring activities. Technical Experience 1: Experience in researching, reviewing, and generating recommendations or determinations on very complex and/or sensitive Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) complaints; ANDTechnical Experience 2: Experience in providing advisory services to executive staff on highly sensitive Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) cases, programs, or results; ensuring comprehensive research of laws, regulations, and case studies are considered in any findings and recommendations; ANDTechnical Experience 3: Experience in managing and leading a multi-disciplinary team engaged in a wide variety of complex Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)-related responsibilities.
