About the Position: This position is with the U.S Army Sustainment Command, 404TH Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Transportation Division, located in JBLM, WA.
Duties
Schedule appointments, ensuring members have all required documents before their appointment.
Advise members on transportation entitlements, weight allowances, and shipping procedures.
Prepare shipping records, ensuring proper documentation for shipments.
Advise on special item shipments, calculate excess charges, and issue reimbursement forms.
Maintain transportation records using an automated system.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.
- This is a Term position scheduled to last 13 Months. A term position may be extended to a maximum of six years depending upon the needs of management.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Interpreting member's orders to advise on personal property shipping entitlements; 2) reviewing shipping documents for accuracy; 3) performing cost estimates to determine the best method of movement; AND, 4) hosting counseling sessions to inform customers on the process of shipping and/or storing personal property. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
