About the Position: Serves with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, Joint Personal Property Shipping Offices-NW, Joint Base Lewis -McChord, WA.
Duties
Monitor Late Pickup and Late deliveries, and inadequate equipment to detect trends.
Inspect Transportation Service Providers warehouses to ensure compliance with DoD contracts.
Utilize Defense Personal Property System and Electronic Transportation Operational System.
Utilize Army Sustainment Command Tracking system to monitors contracts.
Work with Claims advisor to verify claims against the Government and Carriers.
Contracting Officers representative on contracted transportation services provided by Transportation Service Providers (TSP).
Answer inquires on matters pertaining to shipment of personal property within the continental United States and overseas.
Maintain transportation providers files to include origin and destination forms.
Issue Letters of Warning (LOW) and Letters of Suspension (LOS) for substandard service by carriers.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a Tier 1(NACI) security investigation.
- This position may require the incumbent to Travel (TDY) up to 10% of the times.
- This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid driver's license.

Specialized Experience: One year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes applying regulations relating to transportation such as packing, movement and storage of personal property; assisting with inspections of personal property shipments handled by Transportation Service Providers; utilizing automated systems to monitor shipments; and communicating with Transportation Service Providers to determine the status of shipments.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
