About the Position: The position is located at US Army Cadet Command 4th Brigade Headquarters, JROTC located at Fort Liberty, NC.
Duties
Serves as an Education and Training Specialist to the JROTC Chief for managing the Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) and
National Defense Cadet Corps (NDCC) within the brigade.
Provides guidance and executes the implementation of new JROTC/NDCC programs in conjunction with guidance provided by Cadet
Command and Brigade Headquarters.
Disseminates mission objectives, policies, and operating procedures for Directors of Army Instruction (DAI), Senior Army Instructors (SAI), Army
Instructors, (AI), and Military Property Specialists (MPS).
Assists in preparation, planning, and conduct of inspections of JROTC training programs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Temporary Duty (TDY), approximately 50 - 70% of the time.
- May be required to complete a One-year probation period.

To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Gathering statistical data to determine effectiveness of training programs; Assist with inspections to improve problem areas related to the conduct of training program operations; Aid in the review of training programs to ensure compliance of regulations; Implement policies of education and training programs to meet organizational needs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service at the GS-7 level.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definitions below:
GS 9: Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. OR J.D. if directly related to the position being filled.Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
Combining Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the grade levels specified in the table, and may be computed by first determining the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grades GS-9 and GS-11. (When crediting education that requires specific course work, prorate the number of hours of related courses required as a proportion of the total education to be used.)
