About the Position: Position is located at US Army Cadet Command, 4th Brigade, Fort Liberty, NC.
Duties
Conduct annual Junior Reserve Officer's Training Corps (JROTC) instructor training.
Prepare the publication of annual training requirements and policies for all JROTC units in the Brigade area.
Establish new JROTC and National Defense Cadet Corps (NDCC) Programs for Brigade.
Manage all support and functions of the JROTC programs.
Supervise employees by planning work to set priorities for the brigade’s JROTC section while identifying employee training needs.
Advise the brigade on all aspects of JROTC.
Recommend hiring actions for new brigade JROTC staff.
Develop policies and procedures for executing the required work of the section, including identification and determination of resources needed to perform work.
Establish long-range schedules for the work performed, determining deadlines and priorities in order to modify operating guidelines for work of the section to recommend solutions.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes work that involves assessing instructor performance to ensure compliance with policy directives; reviewing training and inspection plans to ensure operations meet organization requirements; researching training plans to prepare the publication of annual training requirements and policies; AND assisting with assigning schedules and/or deadlines in order to recommend solutions to planning.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
