This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), OPERATIONS DIVISION, SPECIAL OPERATIONS DIVISION (OS), OFFICE OF ASAC FOR ADMINISTRATION (OSO).
This position(s) primary purpose is to analyze data, develop criteria, and evaluate existing and planned special emphasis projects and to prepare briefings and other reports on a variety of topics. Develops and recommends automated systems to implement special projects.
Duties
As a your typical work assignments may include:
Communicating information to management for effective evaluation of program operations and performance.
Monitoring the effectiveness and efficiency of programs and operations.
Analyzing program performance and evaluating effectiveness and efficiency in supporting major drug trafficking investigations.
Planning and developing requirements and specifications for new or upgraded computer hardware or peripheral equipment to meet business requirements involving complex or intricate issues or problems.
Monitoring and analyzing spending trends to ensure that cost effectiveness and budgetary goals are met.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Employment is subject to the successful completion of a background investigation. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Applicants applying for the GS-12 must meet the following requirements:
Have at least one full year of specialized experience that is at least equivalent to work performed at the GS-11 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following:
Developing detailed plans, goals, and objectives for the long-range implementation of programs, and/or developing criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of the program.
Planning and organizing a study, estimating costs, coordinating with staff and management personnel, and conducting all phases of the project.
Assessing the productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency of program operations and/or analyzes and resolves problems, effectiveness and efficiency of programs.
