Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Special Assistant in the 988 and Behavioral Health Crisis Coordinating Office, you will use your knowledge of and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by: Serving as a Special Assistant to the Director, 988 Behavioral Health (BH) Crisis Coordinating Officer performing a composite of administrative and technical duties auxiliary to the work of the Director. Assisting in preparation of materials for the Director and Executive staff in order to facilitate their decisions affecting the management and operations of 988 Behavioral Health (BH) Crisis Coordinating Officer. Developing long and short range plans, resource projections, priorities, justifications, etc. under the guidance and supervision of other Office of the Director (OD) staff. Conducting or participating in these or other complex management studies and projects, particularly those with wide or significant effect upon the organizational structure, policy, processes, operations, fiscal control and economy. Carrying out assigned special projects characterized by relatively ambiguous subject-matter content. Using qualitative and quantitative techniques in the research and development of speeches, management of administrative workflow, and charting productivity and task assignments made by the Director and Deputy Director. Assisting with the administrative functions of the organization through the tracking of control and other correspondences to ensure timely responses by 988 Behavioral Health (BH) Crisis Coordinating Officer staff. In collaboration with the Director, responding to various requests from the Agency, the department, congressional committees, the White House and other entities.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Minimum Qualifications: You must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing at least three (3)of the following: Experience in both program and project management tracking, coordinating and/or successful completion of identified workplan priorities. Utilizing a wide range of tools to assess behavioral health and/or crisis services program effectiveness. Using software tools including, but not limited to: SharePoint, Microsoft office, and project management software. Developing technical reports and/or publications related to behavioral health/crisis services for both internal and external utilization. Experience working in behavioral health crisis services. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
