About the Position: Incumbent serves as Logistics Management Specialist, with responsibility for the organization and development of briefings, staff reports, read-ahead packages, and position papers for strategic planning within the MCoE.
Duties
Knowledge of equipment requirement, goal and objective of the organization and a wide variety of specialized logistics requirements, i.e. facilities, utilities, environmental concerns, training devices, vehicles, communications equipment, etc.
Develop briefings, spreadsheets, databases, reports, and support documents utilizing automation systems skills and knowledge ensuring proficiency in various computer software developed documentation.
Coordinates and conducts required training. Coordinate with training subject matter experts to achieve the organizational goals.
Develops plans and strategies for the internal and external integration of day-to-day and long-range projects, actions, and activities.
Recommend major changes to courses of action governing academic operations of the MCoE.
Schedule and conduct periodic inspections of the Enterprise Scheduling System (ESC) to determine if unit training organizations are properly trained and utilizing the system properly
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position requires pre-employment Financial Disclosure Statement (OGE Form 450) and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- Within 6-months of appointment, must obtain and maintain Contracting Officer's Representative(COR) certification.
- Within 6-months of appointment, required to complete all training and certifications per Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR) and Army Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (AFARS).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes all the following (1) Conducts inspections of training resource scheduling and allocations; (2) Develops comprehensive plans and procedures for the integration of materiel into briefings and staff reports.; (3) Advise staff officers and operating officials on policies and assists staff in carrying them out; AND (4) Formulates plans for future development and improvement of academic equipment training mission. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
