About the Position: The incumbent will be assigned to the 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Plans and Operations Division, at Fort Moore, Georgia.
Duties
Serve as a Senior Logistician to plan, develop, and monitor implementation of plans, policies, procedures, and guidance for the Logistics Readiness Center (LRC).
Assist the Transportation, Maintenance, and Supply Divisions with productivity reports, metric management, and organization improvements.
Assist in the development, review, and analysis of all facets of logistics related to and in support of contingency, emergency, mobilization plans, operations, ceremonies, and special events for the installation.
Provide recommendations to the Division Chief based on policies and guidance concerning emergency planning and contingency programs.
Maintain liaison with supported units coordinating and correlating functions and plans to resolve problems and ensure accomplishment of mission.
Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates; set and adjust priorities; and prepare schedules for work completion.
Coordinate with and serve as liaison to the Garrison staff personnel regarding LRC functions and operation elements.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with Department of Defense Directive 5500-7-R.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
- In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position may require the incumbent to work weekends and holidays.
- This position may require the incumbent to work extended hours or shifts upon activation of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Current Civilian Employees of the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Fort Moore Logistics Readiness Center, within the local commuting area. Consideration will also be given to current Department of Army Civilian employees with competitive status.
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Planning and/or directing multiple logistical activities such as maintenance, supply, and transportation; 2) Assisting in coordinating logistics activities in support of contingency, emergency, and/or mobilization operations; 3) Providing guidance on logistical policies and/or procedures; and 4) Leading projects and/or personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
