This position is in the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Office of the Commissioner for Patents, Deputy Commissioner for Patents, Assistant Commissioner for Patents, Office of Patents Stakeholder Experience (OPSE). OPSE provides support, guidance and issue resolution to stakeholders to promote innovation through education and training to facilitate better understanding while removing barriers to entry and easing the customer journey.
Duties
The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria, Virginia.This position is telework eligible per agency and business unit discretion/policy. Fully remote within 50 miles of the USPTO Alexandria, VA headquarters and the duty station is the authorized telework location.

Specialized Experienceis experience that has equipped applicants with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, the next lower grade level is a GS-14
Specialized experience for this position includes: a) Performs investigations that involved complex, multi-functional management analyses studies; addressing and/or solving highly unstructured problems involving difficult business and management processes; or programmatic issues that have significant effects to the organization's programs;
b) Providing authoritative source of consultation regarding strategy and project management; c) Performing formal and informal briefings and presentations to high-level management to provide rationale for a position and/or to gain support from the audience; and d) Evaluating and coaching the performance of staff.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
