About the Position: This is a Permanent position located with the Directorate of Human Resources Military Personnel Division Personnel Operations Branch at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.

Duties

Serve as the Casualty Assistance Center (CAC) Program Trainer. Participate in task analysis for determining training requirements in training and testing materials and specialized learning programs. Provides instruction in all phases of specific Casualty Affairs program courses. Trains and certifies Military Funeral Honors teams, Casualty Notification Officers, Casualty Assistance Officers, Soldiers and Family Members in Pre-Deployment and Routine Casualty Preparedness, Soldiers and Civilians performing Mortuary Affairs.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes (1) the ability to review training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results; (2) Analyze data in recommending program or procedural changes; (3) Coordinate with various organizations, resolving conflicts, presenting briefings, and delivering study findings and recommendations to managers. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Adult Education. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Casualty and Mortuary AffairsEducation / Training Program AdministrationTraining and Education Analysis Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
