About the Position: This is a permanent position as a Lead Training Specialist (Asst Primary Instructor) with Commanding General, U.S. Army Center for Initial Military Training, Master Resilience TNG, Fort Jackson, SC.

Duties

Responsible for administration of all designated and approved assessment tools during the course. Coordinates with department members to develop different teaching strategies and methods of instruction when the need is observed and works with other department members to implement changes. Presents lectures and seminars and teaches classes as assigned. Provides consultation and advice to training activities in development of teaching strategies, methods, assessment tools, media, and classroom management, and maintains liaison with civilian and military educational institutions. Implements courses of instruction in breakout group (30 students) and self-paced models for Master Resilience Trainer Course (MRTC), Master Resilience Trainer-Facilitator Course (MRT-FC) and other special or abbreviated course. Develops and administers remedial programs to assist those students who performed below minimum standards.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Business travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Must complete the Level 1 Master Resilience Trainer Course (MRTC) and be awarded Level 1 Master Resilience Trainer additional skill identifier (8R ASI) within 30 days of entry date.
  • Must complete the Level 2 Master Resilience Trainer-Facilitator Course (MRT-FC) and be awarded Level 2 Master Resilience Trainer-Facilitator additional skill identifier (8J ASI) within 4 months of entry date.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes teaching or instructing in an adult education program on a military installation, administering a training program with emphasis in Master Resilience Trainer Course (MRTC), Master Resilience Trainer-Facilitator Course (MRT-FC); developing or reviewing of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc. and evaluating the training results; training or instructing others on a regular basis in the areas listed above; and understanding a variety of training methods. . This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph. D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Education. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Educational and Training TechnologyOral CommunicationWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
