About the Position: This position is located at the HQS USA TNG Center & FT Jackson Soldier Support Institute Adjutant General School. This position is a Term position and can be extended up to a maximum of six years and may be made permanent without further competition. Army employees who accept a time-limited appointments (to include employees with personal competitive status) will be separated at the end of the time-limited appointment date if the Not-to-Exceed (NTE) date is not extended.

Duties

Works under the general supervision of the Adjutant General School Director of Training (DoT), who assigns projects on a continuing basis or provides objectives to be accomplished. Independently supervise, lead and mentor both military and civilian Advanced Individual Training (AIT) instructors. Serves as a subject matter expert, resource supplier, and research, evaluate, and develop training materials, standards, guides, methods, and aids. Directs and supervises Advanced Individual Training (AIT) instructors in the day-to-day execution of Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) training to support the Adjutant General School Commandant’s academic training requirements.

  • SUPERVISORY PROBATION - This position is supervisory as defined by the OPM General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
