This position serves as the Deputy, Chief Information Officer (CIO) in the Information Resources Management Branch (IRMB), NIGMS.
Duties
As a Supervisory IT Specialist, you will:
Plan and manage IT Projects by conducting IT strategic planning and project management activities.
Serve as a recognized, technical authority for new and advanced computer systems software and cyber security.
Oversee the migration of systems to production environment and monitors for stability, accuracy, and performance.
Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration for the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
Perform feasibility studies including original research in order to develop information systems to meet user requirements.
Provide expert analysis and advice and develops solutions to solve issues and problems associated with IC and agency-wide IT problems.
Direct, coordinate, and approve detailed planning design, development, programming, testing, documentation, training, and implementation of IT systems through the use of outside vendors.

Qualifications
You qualify at the GS-14 level, if you meet the following qualification requirements:
If your resume has related experience demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience obtained in either the private or public sector, and/or completion of specific, intensive training that demonstrates that you possess each of the following four competencies: 1. Problem Solving - identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations

Your resume demonstrates that you have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the federal service obtained in either the private or public sector typically gained in the IT field or through performing the following types of tasks: advising leadership on the strategic direction and management of significant enterprise-wide Information Technology (IT) resources and investments; developing or implementing IT strategic planning for an organization by establishing guidelines and standards for organization-wide IT; conducting appropriate analyses (cost/benefit analysis, impact analysis, etc.) for new IT technologies and investments; and, leading IT implementation efforts by developing appropriate plans, strategies, and measurements for success.
