This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Program Integrity (CPI), Data Analytics and Systems Group (DASG) . As a Health Insurance Specialist, GS-0107-14, you will serve as a technical authority and advisor for the group in the development of program policy and operational procedures related to the implementation of analytics and data systems strategies to support program integrity activities.

Duties

Serves as a technical authority for analyses and special studies of policy issues and topics related to data systems and analytics supporting program integrity activities. Formulates policy objectives and operational procedures related to the operation and management of DASG functions. Leads analytical studies and provides recommendations for improvements to the design, implementation, and management of the DASG functions and programs. Provides comprehensive, balanced information and analysis on all sides of emerging or precedent-setting issues, studies, and research involving the health care programs of the agency. Prepares a variety of written products, including briefing documents, performance dashboards, reports, and issue papers to educate stakeholders, increase compliance, and bolster participation in CPI programs.

In order to qualify for the GS-14 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: Participating in the development or maintenance of Information Technology (IT) platforms and data access methodologies for detection of fraud, waste, and abuse in the Medicare and Medicaid programs; AND Conducting special Program Integrity (Pl) studies focused on cross program issues; AND Preparing briefings and reports for senior management. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
