You will serve as an Electronics Mechanic Supervisor I in the Production Resources Department, Electrical shop at the PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will fully support the Equal Employment Opportunity Program.
You will supervise subordinates performing various tasks in the shop and aboard vessels and crafts assigned for overhaul and repair.
You will plan the sequence of operations and work steps for groups of employees supervised.
You will plan the division of workload among employees based on capabilities and availability of employees, materials, and equipment.
You will estimate and requisition tools, materials, and equipment needed and determine most efficient use.
You will inspect work in progress and upon completion to assure efficiency, economy, and safety of operation.

- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Utilizes the latest techniques. Able to practice in one or more specializations such as microwave, data recording, missile guidance systems, timing, pulse techniques, communications, radar, etc. Understanding of capacitance, resistance, induction, frequency, and wavelength.
6. Ability to develop technically adequate plans for a complex operation. Examples include: Planning and organizing work for a crew where judgment involves considering individual abilities. Developing plans and organizing work for a large group of employees; giving.
