You will serve as a SECURITY OFFICER in the TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMAND.

Duties

You will determine the appropriate level of protection needed for security administration and facilities. You will analyze and review security issues and implement policies, standards and guidelines. You will recommend appropriate collective measures to identified deficiencies and ensure that these deficiencies are corrected.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

• Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
• Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
• Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
• The incumbent must be eligible for Top Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) and Special Access Programs (SAP).
• Travel required up to 25%
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

GS-12 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Being responsible for personnel, physical and information security for sensitive information, providing security management, training, and administrative expertise AND developing and coordinating security policies and procedures in support of programs. GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing and reviewing security issues and implementing policies, standards, and guidelines. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related
