Duties
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As a Supervisory Public Health Advisor, you will use your knowledge of and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:
Designing, developing, conducting, and documenting of national and regional SUD grant programs and portfolios. Such grant programs and portfolios may focus on specific populations (e.g., adolescents, co-occurring, elderly, homeless, etc.,).
Participating in the planning and implementation of joint Center, Agency and Department activities affecting or directly related to CSAT's grant programs, including targeted capacity expansion grants, cooperative agreements, and other related activities.
Providing senior level management and review of two Branches (Opioid Treatment Branch and Integrated Care and Workforce Branch), working closely with Branch supervisors to ensure effective implementation of effective working procedures; maximum efficiency and productivity; coordination of Center-wide, Agency-wide and Federal- State policy and project efforts.
Administering a highly visible and sensitive element of the Agency's mission and function, participating with the Center Director, the Assistant Secretary, and other SAMHSA management staff members in the development of Center and Agency programs, objectives, and priorities.

Qualifications
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Basic Qualifications: Must have experience that provided:
Knowledge of organizational, operational, and programmatic concepts and practices applied by public, private, or nonprofit agencies and organizations engaged in public health or other health-related activities.
Knowledge of the methods, processes, and techniques used to develop and deliver public health or health-related programs in State and local settings.
Knowledge of a specialized public health program.
Knowledge of, and skill in, the application of administrative or analytical methods and techniques necessary for working within the framework of a public health or related organization and carrying out specific program functions.
Skill in oral and written communication, gathering and conveying information, making oral presentations, and preparing reports, correspondence, and other written materials.

Specialized Experience:
For GS-15: In addition to the basic qualification requirement above, you must have one-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service performing at least three (3) of the following:
Responding to requests from members of Congress, professional organizations, government agencies or other internal and external stakeholders for technical assistance on policy and programs related to behavioral health (substance use disorder screening and/or treatment, integrated care, or workforce).
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop policy and/or program initiatives related to substance use disorder and its treatment.
Managing a diverse team in developing and/or implementing processes and procedures to enhance transparency, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Communicating to internal and external stakeholders the key priorities and policies of the organization through discussion, presentation, and/or written communication.
