You will serve as a member of the Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA), S6 Directorate
Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure Team. This position is located at HQ US MARINE CORPSMCIA in Quantico VA.
All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
Duties
You will provides second level (Tier 2) support for systems to include: Windows Server, VMware, Hyper-V, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
You will provide assistance to Tier 1 and Tier 2 staff on specific issues, recognizing trends, and escalating issues when necessary.
You will plan and schedule the installation of new or modified hardware and operating systems and applications software.
You will ensure the application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of systems administration services.
You will develop appropriate procedures and tests data for use in unit, system, and customer acceptance testing.
You will plan and carry out complex assignments utilizing IT systems and services.
You will support the development of new methods and procedures and provide advice and guidance on a variety of IT issues.
You will investigate new IT systems, software and/or hardware complex problems.
You will provide assistance and advice to users of IT systems and guidance to resolve processing problems.
You will perform system maintenance tasks, including backups, recovery, and file maintenance to ensure uptime and efficient performance.
You will provide second level (Tier 2) support for messaging systems to include: Microsoft Exchange 2013 and above, as well as Mobile Device Management platforms, smart phones and VTC (Video Teleconferencing Systems) and infrastructure component.
Requirements

- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications
I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
AND
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1.) Plan and coordinate the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software;
2.) Manage the installation and integration of system fixes, updates, and enhancements and also conduct feasibility studies related to new technologies;
3.) Participate in IT project planning which includes identifying and providing cost-benefit analysis of alternative application designs or approaches;
4.) Make appropriate selections for hardware, software, and system architecture.
